Horvarth’s Honey

One of our gardeners Emilian has a small family run business in Transylvania. They produce Acacia, sunflower, rapseed and mixed flower honey. To obtain the best honey they travel according to the seasons and will spend up to three weeks in one area in order to have the best harvest. They spend three months of the year alone collecting honey from all their locations. It is a labour of love, 100% organic and is why our chefs proudly use it daily from marinating our infamous chicken thighs, to drizzling over our breakfast porridge.

Sandi’s Jam

Sandi is a jam maker and baker extraordinaire! Having lived in Barford for over 30 years, Sandi can often be found at her stall at the village market selling her jam, marmalade, chutney and other homemade preserves where she has created quite a name for herself in the process. Sandi utilises the fruits growing in her own garden to produce the mini jams you find on your morning breakfast table here at The George – an added touch that really does make quite the difference!

Georgia Fiennes Artwork

Our floral adorned farmyard animals that grace our restaurant walls are the fine and specially commissioned work of Georgia Fiennes. Combining a love of animals, flowers, interiors and textiles into her colourful, whimsical paintings, Georgia paints every day in her little pink studio at the bottom of the garden. Georgia works mainly on commissions but also exhibits regularly and her work hangs in collections around the world.
